"BUILDING CITIES BANNER PROJECT", public art project. 77 Hudson St., JC, NJ. Fall 2009. Curator: James Pustorino.
As part of the Victory Arts "Building Cities" public art project, Daryl-Ann's work is displayed on three 4x10' vinyl banners on the exterior of 77 Hudson Street between Grand and Sussex Streets in Jersey City, NJ. Installed October 1st, it will run indefinitely. The display location is two blocks from the PATH Exchange Place station. See following "Path train" link for transportation info.

"RECTANGLES IN THE SQUARE", article on LG REPS blog. December 2009.
Laura Greb of LG-Reps wrote a post on her blog highlighting Daryl-Ann's recent projects which included display of "Rectangles in the Square" the Polaroid transfer image that won the AlternativePhotography.com 2010 Calendar Competition. LG-Reps represents emerging photographers, painters and illustrators within New York City working with advertisers, galleries and various agencies.

"CALENDAR COMPETITION 2010", AlternativePhotography.com publication. Available October 2009.
Eighty-five artists submitted alternative process work to the AlternativePhotography.com Calendar Competition 2010. Out of 2,000 votes, twelve winners were selected.

Rectangles in the Square, Daryl-Ann's Polaroid transfer artwork shown below, was voted the top winner and is featured on the cover and inside the calendar. It is modestly-priced, full color and opens to 11x17. One artist artwork is featured per monthly spread. Aside from exposure for the artists, calendar purchase will support alternative processes overall - - profits will be used to make calendars and disperse them to schools and public spaces associated with photography and alt processes. A Conversation with Daryl-Ann Saunders

"NIGHT MOVES", group exhibit/ curator. Safe-T-Gallery and Farmani Gallery, Brooklyn, NY. March 5-April 11, 2009.
Curated by Daryl-Ann Saunders and Jill Waterman, the photographic works of thirteen artists who toil under cloak of darkness will be featured in Night Moves, a group exhibition of night photography, from March 5 through April 11, 2009 in the neighboring spaces of Safe-T-Gallery (Night Moves: Exploring The Horizon) and Farmani Gallery (Night Moves: Angles of View).

Daryl-Ann's subway work from Shanghai, China will be in the Safe-T-Gallery exhibit. All are invited to the opening reception on Thursday, March 5 from 6 to 8pm, when many of the exhibiting artists will be in attendance. The opening reception will coincide with Dumbo's First Thursday Gallery Walk which occurs the first Thursday of each month.

Additional events:
March 9: a night photography symposium will be held in conjunction with B&H Photo from 10:30 - 4:30 pm.
March 15 and March 21: the co-curators offer a night photography workshop in collaboration with Adorama Workshops.
March 29: from 2 - 4:30pm, a gallery talk with the curators and local artists in attendance will be held in the galleries.

"PRO ARTS MEMBER EXHIBIT", "PEOPLE WITHOUT CLOTHES", group exhibits. Jersey City, NJ. Sept. 27-Oct. 18, 2008.
Daryl-Ann Saunders' photography work will be displayed in 2 exhibits during the Jersey City Artist's Studio Tour (JCAST) at Canco Lofts, Jersey City, NJ. The 2 exhibits are: People Without Clothes: Nudes, Naked & Naughty (Curator: E. Jan Kounitz) and the Pro Arts Member Show. 

(the site of the Kick Off Opening Celebration on October 3rd, 2008). Canco Lofts is a 10 minute walk from the Journal Square PATH station. Free buses from Journal Square station to Canco Lofts will be available on opening night. The Canco Lofts exhibitions are open to the public from 12 - 6pm during the Tour Weekend of October 4th and 5th, 2008 and from 12 - 5pm on additional Saturdays - September 27th, October 11th and October 18th. The Closing Party for artists and sponsors will take place at the Jersey City Museum on Sunday, October 5th from 6 - 8pm.

"URBAN SPACE 08 PROJECTION SERIES", projected work. The New Life Berlin Festival, Germany. June 4, 2008.
The subway photography work of Daryl-Ann Saunders has been selected as an HONORABLE MENTION in the URBAN SPACE 08 projection series, which is to be featured as part of The New Life Berlin Festival. Featuring work by more than 100 artists, NEW LIFE BERLIN is taking place all over the city of Berlin from June 1st to 15th. The Urban Space 08 Projection Series will premiere on June 4th at 10 pm in the alternative film and music venue KiM (located at Brunnenstrasse 10, Ubahn Rosenthaler Platz).

A juried exhibition of Professional Women Photographers’ finest contemporary work created between January 2007 and February 2008. "S-T-G V" (SAFE-T-GALLERY ANNIVERSARY SHOW), group exhibit. Brooklyn, NY. 12/13-30/07. Curator: Don Burmeister.
These are images celebrating five years of extraordinary new art with a Brooklyn edge. Safe-T-Gallery artists (including Daryl-Ann Saunders) have created new prints in alternative photo process, drawing, digital photography, etc. specifically for this exhibit and for limited edition portfolio box sets. Saunders will exhibit a new image from her photography of California's BART subway system platforms. The gallery is conveniently located just one subway stop outside of Manhattan in DUMBO, Brooklyn. The 2007 Jersey City Artists Studio Tour, sponsored by Pro Arts and the Jersey City Division of Cultural Affairs, features hundreds of artists, studios, galleries, performances & exhibitions at various JC locations. Canco Lofts will host the Studio Tour Kick Off Celebration on Friday evening, Oct. 5th, 6pm-10pm and the Closing Party on Saturday, Oct. 20th from 3-5pm. "DAYDREAMS IN A REAL WORLD", group exhibit at Montauk Library Gallery, Montauk, NY. 7/2-8/2/2006.
Professional Women Photographers (PWP) presents a juried exhibition of photography by its members in the Montauk Library Community Meeting Room and Gallery from July 2nd through August 2nd, 2006. These are images straight from the imagination, daydreams that come from personal space. A variety of photographic processes are represented: traditional photography, alternative processes and digital photographic media. Daryl-Ann Saunders will exhibit a photograph from her series of subway imagery titled On The Platform. Links follow for additional information.

"2006 CATHEDRAL ARTS FESTIVAL", group exhibit at Grace Church Van Vorst, Jersey City, NJ. 4/30-6/2/2006.
CAF's group exhibit is one of the oldest and best-attended annual fine arts exhibits in the State of New Jersey. In addition, it's the single most important fundraiser for Grace Church Van Vorst. Tickets are required for the May 6th opening event which includes buffet, champagne, music, dancing and auction. You may contact the artist to arrange reduced price tickets. The exhibit is open to the public free of charge during the regular viewing hours below. The artist exhibits a photograph from her On The Platform series of subway imagery. "STILL LIFE", group exhibit at New York Law School Gallery, NY, NY. 12/12-1/27/2006.
Organized by OIA (the Organization of Independent Artists), this 6-person exhibit includes image transfer prints from the artist's ongoing series Solitary. The reception is open to the general public, all are welcome. Links follow for additional information.

"MEET THE ARTIST: DARYL-ANN SAUNDERS". Safe-T-Gallery, Brooklyn, NY. Oct. 16, 2005.

In participation with the Dumbo Arts Center Festival Weekend, the artist will be present Sunday, October 16th, 2005 from 12 to 3pm at Safe-T-Gallery with color photographs from her On The Platform series of subway photographs. This is the location of her successful solo exhibition last year and the artist's work will be available here in the future. Located in the area of Brooklyn known as DUMBO, Safe-T-Gallery is one stop outside Manhattan in a building that contains open artist studios, photography exhibits and galleries. "EYEWITNESS, Part I", group exhibit. Durst Corporation Show Walls Gallery, NY, NY. Sept. 1-Oct. 13, 2005.
PWP (Professional Women Photographers) and The Durst Organization present a landmark group exhibition of 73 images by 57 PWP artists in a 12-week photographic festival, Part I (9/1-10/13/05) and Part II (10/20-12/1/05) at SHOW WALLS, the Durst Organization lobby gallery.
